K/ ABC Wednesday

K is for knob as in doorknob

This is a pretty knob in an old house. Don't you love the shadow? It must have been a sunny day. How rare is that!

Snowdrops/ Today's Flowers

A snowpdrop

Truth be told, nothing is blooming in my garden today except the crocuses I posted last week. Luckily, a neighbour has a snowdrop...

actually, a little patch of snowdrops!

Rusty Wheel/ Shadow Shot

Rusty wheel and its shadow at the Uxbridge-Scott Museum

Wish I could remember what this machine is! Guess I'll have to visit the museum again. (No problem, I love that place.)

J/ ABC

J is for junco, as in dark-eyed junco

This photo was taken a few weeks ago at a friend's feeder. I was trying to capture a picture of the cardinals that frequent the feeder but either the cardinals weren't hungry (not likely) or they had already seen me (very likely since I was wearing bright red).

Luckily other birds were not so cautious. Juncos, although a bit skittish, went on eating their meal, but kept one eye on me, as you can see this junco was.

Reflections/ Ruby Tuesday

Puddle reflections with red shed in background

We still have tons of puddles and a bit of snow in shaded places, but with warmer weather the grass should be growing green soon!

Black & White/ Ellipsis Monday

Drying clothes on a sunny day

Carly at Ellipsis Monday has challenged us to post a B&W photo, which just happens to be no problemo for me as I LOVE B&W. This shot was taken last summer. (But I wish I could say it was taken today!)

Cyclists/ Ruby Tuesday

Proof that some Canadians are hardy indeed

I might not have snapped this photo on Sunday except that someone made a remark on Saturday's post that was sort of like "Who'd want to ride a bike this time of year?" Easy answer: Canadian cyclists!

Not flowers, true, but this is the colour in our local landscape right now. It grows in wetlands and damp woods.

Carriage Minus Horse/ Ruby Tuesday

As seen in a backyard next to a long driveway

Is it trespassing to walk up a stranger's driveway? I hope not because that's what I did to get this picture. If anyone had confronted me, I would have blamed it on Mary/theteach bravely confessed my error, quickly snapped the photo put away my camera, and laughed and run away slowly walked to my car in embarrassment.

See what you made me do, MaryT? After all, I would NOT have been tempted if the wheels were green or blue, would I?

Ice on Ice/ Macro Monday

Crystals forming atop the ice over a creek

Several times this winter, I've come across hoar frost, which forms when water vapor in the air condenses and freezes instantly on the surface of an object that's colder than 32°F.
