Celebration of Legs/ Mid-week Blues

Kennisis - Horse and Rider, Haliburton Sculpture Forest, Haliburton, Ontario

Just a tad smaller than life size, this sculpture depicts a First Nations rider "as one with the horse in mind and muscle."

Artist  William Lishman made this sculpture with offcuts from a General Motors metal stamping plant.

To see more photos featuring the colour BLUE, visit The Dusty Cellar's  Midweek Blues.

That is way too cool! I love arts!

Which I must say, I saw the same metallic sculpture when I attended a book launching last night held at Annandale Galleries which will be my next blog feature.

Thanks for the visit. I appreciate it sincerely.

I think I like this...almost like an anatomical study!

Re your comment on Stone Creek - Most commercial areas like this have an underground sprinkler system, as do many homes.

Very different. I love that it is made from the offcuts from GM. And even more special that the artist chose BLUE!! Woo hoo.

Horse sculptures are one of my favorite things. This one is beautiful and I really like it that it's blue. Were there others in different colors?

I LOVE this piece. We used to think we could ride like that. One with the horse indeed. MB

This is just gorgeous. I've not seen anything quite like it and the color is so outstanding, making it stand out from anything else like it.

This is a pretty one, Ms. T.G. You framed your picture nicely too.
If I were to be in Ontario I would like to go to the Haliburton Sculpture Forest.
Instead, in August we have reservations for Quebec City and Montreal. Been to Montreal before and liked it.

Happy MW Blues! Mine MWBs this week has the foot part without much legs.
