Walnut Farm/ Ruby Tuesday

A well-kept East Gwillimbury farm

I hope it's not true - but I fear that it is - this farm has already been sold to a developer and will soon become a housing development. I have been admiring this place for years.

But it IS in the path of rapid change. Alas, this is another sign that the Greater Toronto Area is ever growing.

That is too sad! I hate to see that kind of place get razed for "development." I saw so much of this in California and here in NJ.

Anyway, Happy RT! I don't have my picture up yet. Still working on the morning coffee!

Oh - and your picture is beautiful!

Sad to see farmland gobbled up by sterile suburban planning.

Doesn't it make you want to spit?!
Your photo is wonderful - maybe someone might enlarge and reproduce it and post it on billboards - a warning of what will soon disappear.

Beautiful barn and reflection.

Your picture is beautiful! Someone keeps that barn painted up very nicely. It could stay as a loft apartment building. Or use it for the landlady's office.

Happy RT! Thank you for peeking in on my holiday beginnings. Next week I might be even more 'out of pocket.'

No housing, please! This barn is too beautiful, a wonderful ruby that needs to stand - fewer and fewer barns left to admire, which is too bad :>(

If we all did dare to say no, do not
ruiin valuable alndscape and buildings for the purpose of making some quick bucks.
I'm crying every tame it's done in our town. No there are only sad megsflat buildings left along our shore line.
This barn must have some history well worth taking care of.
Thanks for making this photo for remembrance.

It's too bad, too bad. I don't know about Canada, but the US was built by farmers. The heritage of this is vanishing, and it is sad.

Oh my, that is bad news. That barn looks very pristine and well kept. Now you have a picture to remind that sometime there is a red barn erected in that area. Happy RT!

It's just wrong that a development is going in. It is gorgeous and all of the open land! It will be gone, too. Your photo, with it's perfect reflection, will be for history.

I'm going to start Ruby Tuesday tonight. It looks like fun with the best photos.

home on the range. I'd love a farm house like that to retire in one day!

In Florida we call that paving over paradise!

So sad. What a beautiful sight to be no more!

Such a beautiful place to be razed for another housing development. Too much of that going on everywhere, it seems.

At minimum, you should print and frame this photo for your own enjoyment. Love that reflection in the flooded field. =)

A stunning reflection in this gorgous landscape! So sad about the prospective development! I hate to see natural beauty like this being "sliced up"!

This will be a bit of history then. A lovely old barn and you've captured the reflection as well. Nice.

What a shame that the barn may be no more. That classic shape, the stone foundation.. all so beautiful and full of loving craftsmanship. I'm glad you got a good photo of it.

Sad to think of that being sold to a developer. At least either way it will live on in your photographs.

What a beutiful barn! I love how you captured it so crisply and the reflection in the puddle is a nice added touch. That's sad that it will be torn down! I love taking photos of old barns when I get the chance. I hate it when farms are sold to developers. *sigh* Taking a beautiful piece of country and making it into a city. What happened to the simple life? At least you will have this picture to look back on.
