The Silo/ Ruby Tuesday

The backside of The Silo, an eatery in Lewiston, New York

A former coal silo that supplied steamers belonging to the Canada Steamship Lines with fuel, was converted in 1998 into a restaurant with a spectacular view of Lewiston's waterfront.

Unfortunately it was closed when I was there but you can see The Silo's menu HERE.

Great idea for the restaurant. I like the second shot with the turret too.

You really ought to publish a guide book of your area, packed with your great photos.

Interesting adaptive reuse. I'll probably eat there for posterity and have one of their salad with my chicken ;-)

That's an imaginative use for a redundant building. I read the menu - I feel full now!

XOXO Lola:)

That is a neat restaurant! The top of this eatery seems to be a flying saucer or UFO that settled on top. The food may not be the best health wise, but quite a comfort food treat!

How super cool to renovate this structure into a restaurant! Looks like my kinda place. Of course I was going to ask you if the food was good, until I read that it was closed when you were there. Glad you stopped to photograph it, EG. Happy Ruby T to you!

I'll have the Mushroom Swiss burger, please. Medium-well.

Cool building for a restaurant! I like it. It's rather close to the road, though.
