Jumping from 13,500 feet!

Adventurous men and women took advantage of near-perfect weather on Sunday afternoon, October 24th at the Toronto Parachute School, Baldwin, Ontario.

Elora/ Sunday Bridges

A truck crosses the bridge over the Grand River, Elora, Ontario

In the foreground, Canada geese swim close to the edge of the falls ignoring signs (not in the photo) that warn them that any accidents that might occur will be their responsibility.

Halloween/ Shadow Shot Sunday

This jack-o'-lantern looks so much scarier than its shadow, don't you think?

O/ ABC Wednesdays

Rock OUTCROPPINGS, Cottage Country, ONTARIO

These granite OUTCROPPINGS are exposed bedrock, part of the Precambrian Shield (also known as the Canadian Shield), a horse-shoe-shaped area around Hudson Bay that covers nearly half of Canada and a small part of the northern United States.

ORANGE = Precambrian Shield where these OUTCROPPINGS OCCUR

The rocks that form the shield were once far below the earth's surface. It's some of the earth's OLDEST rock.

Autumn/ Mosaic Monday

Autumn in Ontario

True, it's autumn but there's still lots of life outdoors! A few trees now have bare limbs but many still had yellow leaves. Farmers who have been working their fields have not been out there alone - sea gulls are right there to "help."  This pileated woodpecker was busily capturing end-of-the-season bugs and this cow was enjoying some autumn sunshine.

Reunion/ Microfiction Monday

Once a year - at the appointed time, at the appointed place - drink this and be 18 again for 24 hours. We've been doing this for 75 years!

Pefferlaw/ Sunday Bridges

Concrete bridge over Pefferlaw River, Pefferlaw, Ontario

This photo was taken on a nice day last week. We stopped so I could take a photo of the falls (behind me) and then I turned around and noticed the sun shining on this bridge.

Reflections/ Window Views

Gotta love this clean, shiny car

No, not my car. But I admire people who keep their vehicles clean enough to capture clear reflections. This car has reflections of it's own garage, it's neighbour's and even the door of the house across the street!

N/ ABC Wednesday

NEW York State last May

I'm NOT sure exactly where this photo was taken, except it was south of the Canadian/ U.S, border in NEW York State, probably between NIAGARA Falls and Rochester.

Rosseau/ Old Barns

Barn just northwest of Rosseau, Ontario

The owner of this barn apparently believes  one can never have enough signs. Luckily he has a big barn on which to place them.

L'il Red Schoolhouse/ Ruby Tuesday

Former schoolhouse (School Section No. 6, Scott Township) now a home

In great condition, the shell of the building  has been converted into a home. It's still out in the country with plenty of land around it.

Handsome addition

I love this addition! I would LOVE to sit out there while at my computer. Or while reading a book.

Prisoner/ Microfiction Monday

I will be a prisoner until I spin flax into gold? Hmmm. I wonder if planting seed potatoes and then harvesting Yukon Golds will fool them.

Blues jays trying to figure out the BEST way to get the sunflower seeds

Blue jays can be very funny clowns. I just wish they were nicer to other birds.
