Rock OUTCROPPINGS, Cottage Country, ONTARIO
These granite
OUTCROPPINGS are exposed bedrock, part of the Precambrian Shield (also known as the Canadian Shield), a horse-shoe-shaped area around Hudson Bay that covers nearly half of Canada and a small part of the northern United States.
ORANGE = Precambrian Shield where these OUTCROPPINGS OCCUR
The rocks that form the shield were once far below the earth's surface. It's some of the earth's
OLDEST rock.
