Grain Bins/ Shadow Shot

Shadows on grain bins

I was actually taking photos of the pigeons high atop the grain bins - one bird was pure white and very pretty - when I noticed all these wonderful shadows.

Well done, EG. A perfect subject for a montage.

I've never seen so many different kinds of grain bins in one place! Amazing. And yes, the shadows are striking. Where are the pigeons? :-)

At first glance my eye read "blue" instead of "bin". I guess I was taking in the blue light of winter.
This is an interesting collage of things man made and I am wondering if I have shots in my archive of the grain silos in our small town, now demolished.

The snow on the roof actually enhances this place. The change from ugly mechanics only took some snow, sun and shadow. Industry looks glamourous here!

Lovely captures! I like the way the snow seems to be clinging on to the surfaces as it slowly slides down.

EG isn't it funny how we think we are taking a picture of one subject but see so many others after that in the same frame ? .. I love old barns and lean too's ? not sure about that spelling ;-) Great shadow shots !

I love grain bins. They speak to a way of life, almost a culture, because farming is so much more than simply a business. all is quiet now, at rest, until in Spring the cycle begins again. your photos are beautiful. happy SSS!
