On Buildings/ Shadow Shots

Sunburst design on brick

In this first photo, you'll have to imagine the wooden design that creates this shadow as I forgot to take a photo of it!

Gingerbread design and shadow

Here the wooden design that makes the shadow is obvious!

Entrance way and shadow

And here you see another shadow and its maker.

I love all the pretty gingerbread houses in your part of the world. I like the portico on the last. So much character.

great ornate shadow shots here!!!

Actually, in the first shadow the intrigue lies in our imaginations - what interesting detailed allows for the neat shadow??

The other shadows are great, too! The post in the last one is attached to a really old house, perhaps on a long fallow farm. So nicely captured, at least Winter is good for shadows!

I agree with Ralph. I love that we see only the shadow in that first shot.

Beautiful captures.

Terrific shadow shots for the day! Like Ralph and MyMaracas I, too, love that we see only the shadow in the first shot! It is intriguing! Hope you have a great weekend!

WOW, EG, these are all very nice. That first one leaves a little mystery as the roof of the overhang seems to be snow covered. Makes me wonder where the shadow is cast from??!!
I love the shapes and forms of archetecture and the images created with light. The carved wooden edges on the roofline are so symmetrical against the windows. How cool! Great stuff here.

Peace

I think that first one is my favorite - but they all are really fantastic pieces of architecture...a lost art in some areas!

I do like "gingerbread" houses!

A SEEKER OF SHADOWS

A seeker of shadows one day
Asked shadows to come out and play:
“O shadows, my dears,
Despite all my fears,
I hope you will not run away.”

sorry, I got stuck at the icicle spears shadows, the other shots are great too, but I keep coming back to those lethal looking shadows. It looks like you've had some lovely sun this week.

Wonderful shadows - there are even icicle shadows, or am I the only one who saw them?

You have good eyes for shadows... and I like your compositions. I totally relate to taking a shot of a detail and forgetting to shoot the context!

These are all terrific ShadowShots. Was trying to figure out where that sunburst came from! Happy SSS to you!

Wonderful shadows! It's easy to imagine what created that first shadow as it is so clealy defined.

You have to search out the lovely old ornate buildings for these beautiful shadows. Great job.

Love them all...in that second shot, the reflection looks like lace hanging down.

Hmmmmmm.I think that should be dubbed, 'double sunburst on brick'! Very nice-loving those architectural elements shots. Hardly see that kind of thing here in the SW.
