Stained Glass/Shadow Shot Sunday

Glass bird and shadow

I think this bird might be a dove. What do you think?

Another glass bird and shadow in window

I'm pretty sure the second bird is supposed to be a hummingbird...but NOT the ruby-throated hummingbird that we see here from mid May through mid September.

Yes, Kathe, I think the first bird is a seagull.
Very nice shadow shots!

WOW. Very cool, EG. I like the bold sharp shadow in the first one. The wings look like a gull to me. I love the humingbird's shadow against that backdrop.
Glass menagerie (did I spell that right?)

Peace

I like glass sculptures and used to collect glass animals when I was a child. Beautiful sharp shadows!

These are really nice shadows!

I agree that the first looks more like a seagull. We have lots of dove and the beak is wrong for that.

Great shadows, two birds for the price of one!
I agree about the first one being a seagull...

Thanks for coming by!

I have a friend who lives just down the road form us, and she does pieces very similar to these. I agree that the first is supposed to represent a dove and the second a hummingbird. The shadows are stunning.

I see a gull and a hummingbird. I've not been fond of gulls, finding them to be obnoxious for real but actually lovely in stained glass (with great shadow).

Hummingbirds are cool for real, and as cute as always even in glass. The shadows are great, the photo artist captured nice birds and shadows too!

I'm not sure about the first.
The stained glass is beautiful, and your shadows. :)

Nice---I wish we had more hummingbirds around here. Saw 1 last summer and could not believe how tiny it really was. Too precious! Mickie :)

Nice shots! The first one is definitely a seagull.

pretty stained glass birdies.
I love hearing the birds sing all day long now that the weather has warmed up.
thanks for the visit.

Nice birds. I would say the first is a seagull and the Hummer looks like the ones we have around here.

BTW: It was tricky getting the pic of the bridge. It was steep so I had to hang out and snap. The restaurant is right there hanging on a cliff. It was closed that day or I would have gone in and took a pic from their deck. Well I think I would. MB

I found you! I'm happy about that. very late in getting around this week, but I loved the over-wintered cherries photo at your other blog. I'm in agreement with the others - the first is a sea gull. the wings give it away. very nice shadow shots EG. I keep going back to have another look - they're really fabulous. have a great week EG.

I was going to say "dove" at first, but I think now I'm going to say "duck." Either way, it's a lovely little bird!

WELCOME THE SHADOWS

Welcome the shadows surrounding your life,
Treat them as lover or husband or wife;
Welcome them in as you would one who’s dear;
Hug them, embrace them without any fear;
Honor, respect them, and give them their due,
For shadow and light are both parts of you.
