Port Hope Area/ Barn Charm

Last Saturday a few kilometers north of Lake Ontario

Hooray, a bit of sun and blue sky!  What a shame this barn is falling into disrepair though.

A longer view

This is a great find. Charming? I'm not so sure. It's not only fallen into disrepair, it's sunk into disrepair! :-)

The barns, whether dilapidated or not, in North America never fail to impress me. All so photogenic. Lovely in the sprinkling of snow.

It's quite rustic. And I like it that way!

I'm imagining snow sifting through that roof.

this one is a real shame...it looks to have been well built to begin with!

It is likely sitting on prime development land, too! What a shame.

Poor old barn...sad and beautiful at the same time.

I bet it was a beauty at one time. Sad when they are abandoned.

Glad you got this shot while it's still standing!

It's kind of sad to see this beautiful barn go to waste. Many people like to own a barn. ^_^

This one lets in the snow as well as the rain.

that does look run down. I love the snow all around though :)

A lovely photo but sad to see a barn in this condition.

We call these air-conditioned barns around here! Nice shots...love the different views. It's always a shame to see them falling into disuse - I hate what that means. Either the farmer gave up, or passed away, or lost the farm. None of them are happy thoughts. Happy Tuesday!

it has a very rustic charm to it...would love to have bits of wood from this barn to re-purpose into something (been spending too much time on pinterest lol)

Awwww I think it definitely still has charm! It would be great if it had some TLC. Second shot is my favorite :) It looks like someone is living in the house?

It's a shame, but they sure make for some interesting & beautiful shots, don't they! It's such a big barn to have neglected, too

Thanks so much for joining this week's Barn Charm =)

This just screams COLD!

I think it's beautiful! It is a bit sad though. Wish I had the money to take barns like this apart and then use the wood, etc. to build a new barn.

It looks like the operation of the farm must have been pretty extensive at one time for it to be this large of a barn.
I sure wouldn't mine having some of that old wood to repurpose.

Especially those barns are so fascinating. I always like to imagine how they looked like in their prime time. Great find!

This one is sad. It looks like it was quite the barn in its day.
