Picturesque JORDAN Harbour on Lake Ontario
If you squint you might be able to see Toronto on the other side. This is one of my favourite places this time of year to look for migrating ducks. No ducks the last time we were there but I did take a photo of...
Abandoned ship in JORDAN Harbour
what looks like a pirate ship. But it's not. This ship was originally (1914) a ferry on the St. Lawrence River but in the early 1990s the owners had a facade built over the steel hull to make the ferry look like the 1535 Le Grande Hermine, sailed by Jacques Cartier, and the ship began its second life as a Montreal restaurant. Unpaid dockage fees "encouraged" the owners to move this ship a few times until it landed in JORDAN Harbour. In 2003, a fire set by vandals burned much of the wooden details.

What a great photo! And thanks for the history! By the way, I could see Toronto...at least I will assume that's what it was, since I haven't been there...very nice photo!
Ship wrecks always look so picturesque, quite unlike other wrecks.
I love the lighthouse. Too bad about the vandals. I guess it is a popular thing for tourists to take a look at though.
Both are beautiful shots and I love the abandoned ship. It's very romantic looking to me. Carver, ABC Wednesday Team
Terrific photos! Great old boat!
Great photos for a lovely place. I'm intrigued by shipwrecks.
Lovely, lovely photos! I live far away from the sea and I find these sights fascinating!
I loved reading your comment on my blog!:-)
Toronto is indeed visible (just barely) in the distance ... but I like its misty aura.
This is a wonderful vista looking across the water and the old boat makes for a great photo subject. I wonder how many pictures are taken of that thing every year?
Beautiful shots, shame on the vandals!
J is for...
your world seems to be very piteresque--love the abandoned ship.
Love the ship, even in its decay. Actually it makes a far more interesting photo.
2 brilliant pics and I also like your Sunset Barn in your previous blog - Jane UK
Abandoned old ships are a sad sight.
I love these two photos! The light house and the old ship are fantastic looking..
And yet another capture photo #2!! What a wonderful ship! And so sad that vandals destroyed it by fire! :(
I love the grey sky in the background, makes the colors of the ship so beautiful! :)
What a shame about the fire! I bet it was a jolly good place to eat.

Very nice!
Too bad the ship was damaged by fire, thanks for the great story.
Did you find any treasure?? :-0

It maybe a junk by someone standard but a treasure for photographers!
Beautiful images, I like so much the first composition!

Definitely an interesting story about the ship...sad to see it's current state...although a shipwreck is definitely an interesting photo subject!!!
I too saw Toronto in this!!! I like the glimmer of color and shadow shapes...nicely done!!!
Beautiful, I can see why that top one is a favorite place!
The faintly lit outline of Toronto gives the foreground an other worldly feel. I will guess that ship is a favoured photographic subject for many, I'd be clicking away if I was there.
Love that photo of the ship!!!
Two stunning photos - I love the lighting.
Always sad to me to see a ship in this state, although it makes for a great pic!
Jordon Harbor is such a beautiful place, the ship is totally awesome.
Would love to visit.

I love the last shot!
