Orange/Friday Fences

Still on the beach last Monday, a snow fence

This snow fence is temporarily there to force drifting snow to accumulate on the beach rather than on the road and parking lot. When we were there last Monday, the wind was blowing like crazy, so I can see why the fence would be important in winter. I bet the removal of the fence is on the town's April to-do  list.

I am linking to Friday Fences here.

Haven't seen snow fences up close and personal for a long time. My grandmother in northern Minnesota had a big pile of them down by the road...what a job to put them up and take them down every year! My cousin and I would hide in the pile and smoke cigarettes! I guess we figured no one would see the smoke flowing up from the top of the pile!

My question is...do the snow fences really work? I always wonder if they do...guess it is past time to take them down! Love the view there (minus the orange fence, of course)...

Very interesting to know about the reasons of keeping the fence there, and your picture is great!

Yes, I think it is time to take down the orange fence. This would make a beautiful picture without it. Happy Friday Fences!

I kind of like that orange color against the blue green of the water. But I bet you all will be glad when it is down.

I guess it wasn't needed much this year.

Yes, I would say it is high time to take that one down! I'm sure those fences are a big help in the winter time!

The orange fence is as spices in the food! :) And I just love it, both the fence what it does to the photo - and spices in the food! :D

I've never associated snow fences with a beach...it's all where you live that makes the difference!!

What a simple, clever idea.
