Red Barn Theatre/SOOC

Birdhouse made to look like a well-known local theatre

Sadly, the real Red Barn Theatre burned to the ground nearly three years ago. It was Canada's oldest professional summer theatre, a landmark that had brought prestige and awareness to the community at Jackson's Point, Ontario (just north of East Gwillimbury).

To see more photos straight out of the camera, visit Jan's  SOOC at Murietta365.

This is very cool! So sorry to hear about the Red Barn burning down. A good theater is a fine thing for a community to have.

It is always sad when a landmark burns down - another piece of history gone! But, this is one cool birdhouse...great shot!

I wonder if the occupant birds have to be retired actors?

Sad to hear it burned down, and I'm sure the birds missed it too..! It's very beautiful (or was).

I was Standing there when it burned down, right at the end of the driveway. I was walking back from my friends house with my mom ( I was just a Kid 4 years ago! ) and we saw a tiny glint if orange apear above a hedge. We Got out to lake Drive, and There it was A team of almost 30 Emergency Vehicles, Spraying water all over that thing. It was a Sad reminder that, a few years before that, another fire burnt down an ice cream parlour, getting half the town ice cream-ahold from their low prices and great ice cream. Now 6 years later, there sits an empty, grassy lot.
