Speaking of spires spiking up in the air, you couldn't do better than these! I don't think I've ever seen such a fancy fire station ... maybe the fire persons climb way up to the top and watch for fires (or maybe that's what they used to do?) Maybe?
After I saw everyone's photos I knew my little town is just plain simple. Nothing stands out here. Just plain old everyday folks, I guess. Not originally my home town. QMM
That's a very unusual fire station tower. Like Ann, I'm curious to know what's on the weathervane. A soldier with his knapsack or a man with a scythe would be my guesses?
East Gwillimbury is a rural town less than an hour north of Toronto, Canada's largest city.
My family calls me CameraGirl because I take my camera with me wherever I go.

Wow! Another thing to look for! Sometimes I think my head needs to be on a swivel so I can comfortably look in every direction! Beautiful shots today!
I like these towns outside of the big city. They so unique. You have captured some of that in your photos.
A lookout tower and a fire station in one!
Charming.

What a fabulous set of towers, interesting to see.
These "almost" onion-shaped spires "almost" remind me of Russian architecture... :)
God bless you!

the top on the fire station is interesting - looks like a Dairy Queen ice cream cone - think there is a significance.

Great towers. Love that last shot.
Beautiful photos and it must be a beautiful town! :)

Fantastic up-shots- beautiful!
Cool spires. I love that first one. Never seen anything like it.
I love the tower on the fire station - something I've never seen before. It's beautiful!
The fire station has such nice simplicity to it, lines, composition -- very very attractive.
I love these, EG!
