OFFICIAL ONTARIO flower: Trillium
Just in time for the letter O! At this moment, local deciduous woods are in bloom, filled with glorious wildflowers. And one of the stars is ONTARIO'S OFFICIAL provincial flower, the white trillium, known botanically as Trillium grandiflorum.
Many trilliums celebrating their OFFICIAL status
Is it any wonder they are so beloved?

They are in bloom already. I guess I need to out to the trails and have look.
I was in the woods yesterday and didn't see any white trillium here in Ohio.. I'm going to look a little harder

What a treat to find a big group of these making a carpet on the woods floor!
I have never seen so many at one time! Beautiful! When I lived in northern Michigan, we used to love going into the woods looking for them. I did see one the other day at the Arboretum...love it!
What a wonderful flower that is! I had to look it up in wikipedia, but unfortunately it was not in my language..
The field are filled with these beauty flowers I can see!

O is for...
They look delicate, but must be hardy to grow so abundantly like that. They're gorgeous.

Awww, what a delightful flower. I'd love to happen upon a woodland full of them. Beautiful!

Enchanting!
I love these pictures. I've actually read a lot of books that features Trillium as fauna in the forest. It's nice to see a picture of the real thing and now when I read about it I'll have an image in my mind.
a beautiful bloom!
They are very lovely. Never heard of them before. But why does a province need an "official" flower? Texas has blue wildflowers. I don't know what Florida has. Maybe gator as the official reptile. Minnesota's bird is the mosquito!
I must get out and find one of these masses of trilliums!
Gorgeous flower.
