Alton Mill./Signs

Old mill, now an an arts centre

This is a fun place inside and out. Inside there are studios, galleries, a heritage museum and even a cafe. Outside there are many photo ops.

Keep up the good work. I enjoy your photos and commentary. Since you live in Canada can you post something that you consider essential Canada? Could be anything. Thanks.

Cool!

to 42N, the beaver is pretty much essentially Canadian!

I never knew that the beaver was considered Canadian - as compared to the maple leaf!

I think 'tis wonderful when old but strong buildings are repurposed. And studios, galleries, museum, cafe - what more can you ask for. Well, I'll ask if any of your photos are hanging out in the galleries?

Love the sign -- yes it is quintessential Canada~ it looks like a lovely place to browse from the outside ... I'd definitely want to go in.

I've never been there. You certainly can't get much more Canadian than a beaver. Have you seen the commercial for tents that has a film of a beaver building a lodge? What an engineer!

I like how they repurpose these old Buildings

Nice find. I am going to have to start paying attention next time I'm in Alton.

Love the idea of the "busy beaver" icon, suiting the image of the mill! Sounds like a grand place!

An old mill is a perfect place for an art center. Fine graphic!

I have only been here when the gallery wasn't open (I am not known for having great timing!)

...and I love that Cdn Tire commercial with the beaver who has no car and no money!!
