Mid January/Nature Notes

Thickson's Woods Nature Reserve

It had been a foggy morning, water still dripping while we were there.

Largest square: white-breasted nuthatch walking headfirst down a tree trunk. Working clockwise"  female hairy woodpecker, berry-less elderberry branch, dried pine needles caught on a leafless shrub, maple leaf hanging on bare branch and an oak leaf wedged between branches on another shrub.

I enjoy nuthatches so much and also like the shot of the woodpecker. Your nature collages are always a joy.
