Hundreds of Canada geese wait the winter out in a Whitby field close to the harbour when the water is iced over. But during a snow squall a few days ago, something spooked them and...
It's funny how if one or two takes off it's not long before they're all in the air. I've seen that happen again and again. They're messy birds, but attractive ones.
Although I have yet to figure out why, I love to see the geese fly overhead...freedom?...formation of togetherness?...not quite sure but I also know they can be nasty creatures!!!...:)JP
I always wonder what the signal to go is. Is one bird in charge and when he flies they all do, or does someone yell ready, set, go? Really a mystery how dozens or hundreds of birds all take flight at the same time.
East Gwillimbury is a rural town less than an hour north of Toronto, Canada's largest city.
My family calls me CameraGirl because I take my camera with me wherever I go.

I can even hear them :)
Nicely captured in flight. We have some geese that call the golf course home and once in awhile I manage a shot of them in fight.
Weren't you thrilled to see that many at once? I would be!
Very cool shot of the geese taking off:) Nature vs. Urban:)
