Whitby Harbour/Signs

On the pier at Whitby Harbour

The two closest signs say:

Caution
open water
potential hazard
use at
own risk

Warning
uneven
surface
trip hazards
use at
own risk

Sorry but I cannot read the other signs.

I am linking to Lesley at Sign, Signs HERE

That's there way of say we are not responsible for your injuries. So for goodness sake be careful.

Great image! Scenes come to mind of waves crashing over when there are storms out at sea.

Even with the warnings who could resist a closer look at the wonderful view.

Here in the States they would just flat out say Keep Off! and put up a razor wire barricade.

trip hazards would be enough for me
actually all the ice would be it for me

Beautiful shot. Looks like there are plenty of warning signs.

I guess some people need signs to tell them not to trip and fall into the water. But if someone is going to trip and fall in the water, I'd guess a sign warning against it isn't going to matter much.

This is a very cool scene - in more ways than one!

I'm having a hard time commenting on your other site...the "Comment" thingy is shaded out.

Wow, I wouldn't be that close to the water with those signs posted.

Sometimes things are just so obvious, it is sad that there is a need to post signs.
